Former Florida Gator forward Chandler Parsons will be at the ESPY awards show tonight, among the Hollywood Elite. Parsons, who was the 2010-11 SEC player of the year last season for Florida, was drafted by the Houston Rockets last month in the second round. Tonight, Parsons will accept the 2011 Capital One Cup on behalf of the University of Florida men’s athletics program. Justin Timberlake will be the one giving out the award to Parsons tonight. Former Florida Gator star forward Corey Brewer will be hosting his second consecutive basketball camp in Gainesville. Brewer, who was traded to the Dallas Mavericks earlier in the year before winning the NBA championship, will host the camp at The Rock High School starting August 1- August 3. “I had a great time with the kids last year. Chicago Bulls center Joakkim Noah has been hit with a $50,000 fine by the league. According to ESPN, Noah directed an anti-gay slur towards a fan towards a fan while he was sitting on the bench. Noah defined the amount of the fine as “fair”. The decision to fine Noah was made just a few hours after the incident had happened. Former Florida Gator basketball forward Dan Werner has been arrested on a DUI charge. Werner, who was spotted in a silver Kia sedan with a tail light out was pulled over and booked at the Alachua County jail on Tuesday. Werner told the police that he was driving for his girlfriend because she was intoxicated. Art Forget, a sherrif’s spokesman reported that Werner’s blood-alcohol level was .065 and .070. “In this case, his (Werner’s) driving was impaired, and so he was charged with driving under the influence even though he did not meet the presumptive proof,” Forgey said. Florida basketball players Erik Murphy and teammate Cody Larson face felony burglary charges after being arrested early Sunday in St. Augustine. Both have been released on bond. Team manager Joshua Adel was with Murphy and Larson at the time and he was also charged but with principle of burglary. Adel told police he was just a lookout.
