Florida Gator reliever Anthony DeSclafin signed with the Toronto Blue jays this past weekend and has chosen not to return to Florida for his last season in Gainesville. DeSclafin is the eighth player out of a record 11 to be drafted. The Blue Jays signed DeSclafin in the sixth round with the 199th overall pick. Last season he went 5-3, 43 2/3 innings in 28 appearances. He had a 4.33 ERA while striking out 39 batters, recorded six walks and three saves. The Gators advanced to the super regionals this weekend, even without two of their best stars. But as of right now, the Gators may be getting one of the two back for the Mississippi State series. Head coach Kevin O’Sullivan told the media that sophomore LHP/DH would be evaluated on Thursday. Johnson was knocked out from a throw by catcher Mike Zunino during the SEC tournament and was left unconscious.
